Shawna received her Master of Science degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, with special emphasis on child language disorders, including Autism. Shawna’s research and clinical work focused on families from both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking backgrounds. In addition, she received the Outstanding Graduate Student award from the Medical School and was awarded the Herz Gold Medal as the top student in her graduating class (when visiting the UNR campus you can find her name engraved on a pillar in the honor court). Shawna is trained in the Lindamood-Bell Phoneme Sequencing Program (LiPS) to help children with reading/spelling skills. Additionally, she has participated in courses related to Social Thinking and the Incredible Flexible You program. In 2017, Shawna completed a year-long Leadership Development Program that was provided by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. She enjoys the variety of winter/summer activities that the Reno/Lake Tahoe area has to offer (snow skiing/shoeing, water skiing, boating, SUPing) in addition to spending time with her husband and sons.

Julia received both her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from the University of Nevada, Reno. She completed her externships in the Washoe County School District and here at Sierra Therapy Group where she used her focused passion and rigorous discipline to evaluate and treat a variety of speech and language disorders. She believes that every situation provides a unique learning opportunity, and that by capitalizing on every teachable moment, she can give clients the tools to be successful every step of the way. She enjoys running, hiking, meditating, reading, and writing.
Amanda Casey M.S., CCC-SLP
Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota. Following graduation, she worked as a behavior therapist using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy working with children with autism. Amanda later moved back to her hometown of Reno, Nevada to pursue her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Nevada, Reno. She has experience working in pediatric and acute medical settings evaluating and determining treatment plans for individuals with speech/language disorders, intellectual disabilities, Down Syndrome, autism, swallowing disorders, aphasia, apraxia, and voice disorders. Additionally, Amanda is PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) Level I certified and trained in the Lindamood-Bell Phoneme Sequencing Program (LiPS) to help children develop their phonological awareness skills which are required for reading and spelling tasks. Amanda's interests outside of work include reading, playing tennis, and spending time with her family, friends, and her dog.

Hannah earned both her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). She completed her externships in Washoe County School District and at Sierra Therapy Group. Hannah has experience evaluating and treating a wide range of speech and language disorders. She has a passion for language that lends a unique perspective to her approach to therapy. Hannah also earned a bachelor’s degree in French with a Minor in Linguistics during her time at UNR. She enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
Kaitlin Thompson, M.A., CCC-SLP

A Bay Area native, Kaitlin earned her Bachelor and Master of Art degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders from California State University, Chico, as well as earned a Minor in Child Development. Kaitlin has worked in public and private school settings, private practice, and skilled nursing facility settings in California. Her diverse training has allowed her to expand her skills in working with all types of clients. She is well-versed in the Social Thinking®methodology, Zones of Regulation®, The PEERS® curriculum, and associated programs (Movie Time Social Learning®, Whole Body Listening®, Incredible Flexible You®). Kaitlin enjoys working with children because she understands they are navigating and discovering their world every day, and her passion is to help guide their innate curiosity. Working closely with families is one of Kaitlin’s specialties, providing functional and effective therapy that can be generalized to settings outside the clinic. In her free time, Kaitlin likes to hike, camp, try new restaurants, and spend time with her family and friends.

Annelise Boge M.S., OTR/L
Annelise received her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University (Fort Collins), and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Linfield College (McMinnville, OR). Prior to returning to school to study occupational therapy, she worked in the day treatment program at Children’s Behavioral Services (CBS) treating preschoolers with severe emotional and behavioral problems and as a Developmental Specialist at Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS). She has experience with the evaluation and treatment of children with autism, feeding issues, Down Syndrome, developmental delays, behavioral problems, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties, fine and gross motor delays and cognitive disabilities. Annelise firmly believes that through a partnership between child, family and therapist, every child has the potential to succeed.
Leslie Marsden, MOT, OTR/L

Leslie has been working with children and families for over 15 years in a variety of developmental, educational and medical settings. She received her Bachelor's degree in Human Development from University of California, San Diego in 2005 and her Master's of Occupational Therapy degree from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, California in 2013 where she had the honor of being nominated for Most Outstanding Student and was the 2013 Samuel Merritt University Commencement Speaker.
As a pediatric Occupational Therapist Leslie has experience in working with children with ADD, ADHD, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Chromosomal and Genetic disorders, Developmental Delays, Down Syndrome, Failure to Thrive, feeding difficulties, motor dysfunction and coordination difficulties, prematurity, Sensory Processing Disorder, visual perceptual/motor delays as well as many other diagnoses. She has specialized training in sensory processing disorder from the STAR Institute for SPD, eating/feeding training from the Pediatric Feeding Institute, training in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) for Motor Dysfunction, Handwriting without Tears, Yoga for the Special Child and Little Flower Yoga and Mindfulness for Children and Adolescence.

She is energetic, caring, patient, and fun loving. Barbie has a sincere passion for children and a desire to make a positive difference in their lives. Barbie is married and the proud mother of two. She enjoys spending time with her family, playing softball, snow skiing, playing the piano, parent volunteer and baking for various fund raising events including The Children’s Miracle Network.
